“One can easily see why Millennial Reign has supported the bands they have on tour” – The Metal Resource
Millennial Reign are a Texas based symphonic power metal band which began as a side project for ASKA guitarist Dave Harvey.
Signed to Swedish label Ulterium Records in 2015, Millennial Reign found themselves on the same roster as such noted bands as Theocracy, Darkwater, and Harmony. The release of ‘Carry The Fire’ in 2015, included vocalist James Guest, and featured members of Infidel Rising on bass, drums, and second guitar. ‘Carry The Fire’ garnered positive reviews and paved the way for the Dallas based group to open for Leaves Eyes, Sonata Arctica, Joe Lynn Turner, and filling the opening slot for a southern leg of Stryper’s ‘To Hell With the Devil’ 30th Anniversary Tour in 2016.
Propelled by the momentum of positive reviews and live shows, Millennial Reign was ready to return to the studio in 2017. However, 2017 would be a year of change for the group as guitarist Dave Harvey, thankful for the contributions of Infidel Rising’s members, began to search for musicians who would be full-time Millennial Reign members. The search quickly ended when Harvey recruited drummer Steve Nichols (Solitude Aeturnus) and bassist Neil Bertrand (When Angels Die) as full members for the group. This incarnation of Millennial Regin debuted opening for European metal legends Hammerfall and Delain. While the rhythm section had been solidified, vocalist James Guest left the band amicably for reasons of his own.
Not to be deterred, Millennial Reign enlisted Infidel Rising vocalist Travis Wills to complete their second Ulterium Release, ‘The Great Divide’. Following the release of ‘The Great Divide’, Millennial Reign again opened for Stryper before embarking on their first international show in 2018, Exodo Fest in Mexico. Stateside, the group found themselves again opening for Hammerfall, as well as Flotsam and Jetsam, and Y&T. During this time Millennial continued the search for a full-time vocalist culminating in the addition of newcomer Tiffany Galchutt.
Tiffany blended in perfectly with the group, making her live debut when Millennial again opened for Stryper, followed by an opening slot with Accept. Audience reaction to the new line-up of Millennial was positive and prompted the group to re-release 4 songs from the ‘Carry The Fire’ catalog featuring Tiffany on vocals, titled 'Carry The Fire Again'.
After returning from their 2023 trips to Europe, Mexico and immediately following a supporting slot with Stryper, Steve made the decision to step down as the band's drummer. Pedro Cortes was asked to fill in for a supporting slot with Petra, and afterwards he became a permanent member of the band.
As of 2023, Millennial Reign has performed at the Elements of Rock Festival in Switzerland, followed by a return to Exodo Fest in Mexico, all while working on the highly anticipated follow-up to their 2017 release 'The Great Divide'.
